    Why Attend?

    Full Overview

There is no such thing as an orderly energy transition - incrementalism is woefully inadequate in the face of the climate crisis. Whilst there is a quest to find the perfect solution and the most innovative technology, there is a need for action now. Utilising conventional green energy technologies that are already scalable will be critical to reduce GHG emissions to achieve 2030 net zero targets. However, we can’t lose sight of the technology developments that will radically increase the supply of clean energy in the future.

Therefore a balance must be struck between ensuring that infrastructure is upgraded to support the technology of the future, as well as continuing to support the deployment of incumbent clean energy technologies. Before and beyond 2030, it will be critical to have digitised and interconnected grids, systematic and coordinated offshore and onshore wind power markets, as well as a balance between centralised and decentralised assets. But how does the sector ensure it rapidly delivers the energy transition and prepares for what is beyond?

The Financial Times, in partnership with Prysmian Group, was delighted to host this Digital Dialogue online. We hope the discussion will provide critical insights into how the energy transition can be accelerated using scalable technology today, whilst also building the foundations that will support green energy innovations of tomorrow.
